Taking the leap of faith
Construction prices are on the rise, averaging 15% increases per year. Building cost rise on average 12-20% per year due to the rising cost of raw building materials. For example sand used for concrete used to cost $80-90 per yard in January, now $130 per yard, or 4" PVC pipe, which used to sell at $86 for a 10' piece, now sells for a whopping $120. Raw wood, cement, electrical wire and other construction supplies also increased from 6% - 19% during 2013. Costa Rica and Panama's economy continues to be one of the fastest growing economies in the tropical world. Factor that into the cost of living, food, fuel prices and transportation... Now is the time to build green. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be to build in Latin America. With construction prices pushing the $100-150 pr. sq. ft. range. Demonstrating new construction methods is a requirement and no longer a luxury. I create affordable and comfortable living spaces for retirees, investors and folks wanting to just slow down and enjoy life.
