Architects in Costa Rica designing, Eco Homes and Tropical house plans.
My architectural design style and house plan designs and ideas originate from nature and paying close attention to the natural resources that exist on my clients properties. Weather you live on the beach or in the jungle in Costa Rica, Central America or anywhere else for that matter, it’s important to consider all your design elements and features before breaking ground. Before we begin, we get a few dozen questions about your lifestyle out of the way. My rates are affordable and on some occasions you can have some nice concept drawings your hand for under $ 1500 -2500. Most 2500-3000 sq. ft. homes cost approx $ 2500-$6000 to get a complete set of house plans complete. I charge $40 pr. hr. and work steady toward completion, keeping you informed via e-mails and scans as we go along. In just a few short days or weeks, you’re home design could be on its way to being permitted and built.
I can send you a questionaire asking you questions about your family size, ages, lifestyle and amenities you are accustomed too, such as :
How many people will your home sleep ?
Approximate Square Footage ?
Approximate Budget ?
How many children ?
Do you want an open air style tropical home ?
Do your afternoons revolve around the kitchen or living room ?
Is crime an issue in your neighborhood ?
Caretakers House ?
Island or peninsula Style Kitchens ?
Swimming Pool, Showers or bath tubs, Outdoor showers ?
Shared or private bathes….etc..
Generally a site visit is next where we determine the best view, sunrise, sunset, shade and privacy concerns, and which way the breeze comes from. The rest is easy. If you send me pictures and your plot plan, many time a site visit isn’t necessary. If you would like to see our Osa Peninsula Vacation Home Rentals , or browse through our Treehouse Photo gallery, feel free to visit all pages at the bottom of our website for complete navigation and examples of sustainable architecture.
So in summary, think about open living concepts that take advantage of morning and afternoon breezes, stay out of the hot afternoon heat and rain, maximize available light throughout your entire home. Use sustainable materials, recycled products, practices, recommendations and most importantly use local labor when possible. If you would like my help and consultation, please e-mail me at osamike@gmail.com. I would be happy to provide you a quote or work hourly on your project. Thanks for spending your time surfing through my site and I look forward to hearing from you !
Many of my design features have been incorporated into many homes throughout Costa Rica. In order to build sustainably you should evaluate your available materials. For instance, in Costa Rica, I can tell you with confidence, construction materials, and costs are on the rise and getting a 2 story home built for under $100-$ 175K is a challenge these days. Especially utilizing conventional construction techniques.
Don’t be afraid to think outside the box a little. Walls are necessary for privacy and sleeping areas in your home, however, can also block cool breezes. Walls and concrete can also block un wanted afternoon heat and sun. So it’s important to understand the natural elements that exist on your property before you break ground, or in the case of building treehouses, break air. Outdoor living spaces are one of the great benefits of living in the tropics. You will see in most of my designs that I bring nature into the design and bring the design into nature, removing borders and walls with a design that encourages you to feel like you are a part of nature, and nature is a part of you, My home designs accomplish this. If you like some of my architectural house plans , and you are thinking about building green and sustainable. Contact me at 508-714-0622, or e-mail me through our website.
